Hi All !! is there anyone who is still without an accountability partner? my partner is having a health issue (not diet related) and isnt participating right now…and i could really use someone to “holla” at me when i fall off like i did last week…..needing someone who can text through out the day….
let me know i am on fb
thanks !!
I haven’t yet started this program. I have the tracker manual and I am ready to start today. I have been receiving the emails and have saved them. Should I start with the day 1 and continue to follow the emails as I receive them or should I wait until the next 90 day session starts?
Great Nancy! Once you have listened to the download that came with your journal go ahead and pick a start day and follow the emails. You have everything you need! If you have questions, submit them here and we will support you as you go.
I missed a couple of Daily Tips, are they listed anywhere? I am down 4 lbs total and so happy! Trying really hard to get my protein up. Not sure how my daily medication falls into play but taking BP and heart medications does seem to interfere a little in my weight loss. Anyone else notice that about medications? Gained 33 lbs since bypass surgery in early 2009. I had just lost all the weight between mid 2007 and 2009. I am so determined and I love the journal. I really see where my glass or two of wine really keeps me from losing more on the nights that I have it. I am focusing on walking more, I haven’t been faithfully doing that but I am on a mission. As I’ve heard many times FOCUS – Follow One Course Until Successful and I am truly doing that. Thanks Pam and Angie!!
Wow, Debbie! Glad you are seeing results and yes certain medications do play into weight loss. I was border line diabetic when we started and told the doctors to give me 6months to get my weight down and then check me again before medications they wanted to start me on. Luckily, my numbers started improving as I dropped. I go every year for blood work and I watch it closely. Had no idea I would ever be so good at knowing how to read those reports, but I do! When we started my BP was 170 /80 and earlier this week it was 120/65!! The doctor even commented that my blood showed I eat a like a vegetarian. So, hang in there and keep tracking! (REALLY, studies have shown that 1 glass of red wine a day can be good for you). ONE:))
Angie, the same thing with me as well . I was 170/90. asked my doctor to give me until the first of the year. that was in August. droped 8 pounds since August. Looking forward to see were I land in 2013. Thank You guys for being you and starting It’s My Now, The tips are great.I have a place to go for support that fit’s into my schedule. I’m excited…
Your welcome Donna! 8 down is great ……in about a month, huh? You’ll do it and will feel awesome when you can by pass those meds by daily decisions to be your best! Keep us posted!
I was going to start ‘It’s My Now’ in the beginning of September. But had no accountability partner, like you recommended. Just as you would think, I have not kept up the plan. My friend has now returned from a long vacation, and is ready to start with me. How/When do we begin with Day One?
Joan…. yes, we are confident that the key to our success and the thing that makes our ‘plan unique’ is (1) TRACKING and (2) ACCOUNTABILITY! And one without the other has a pretty short life for MOST people! Glad you have a buddy who is ready to start with you! Is there any reason why you wouldn’t start tomorrow? You have everything you need between the video on the TURNAROUND page, the sample menus, and the TRACKING journal! There are many questions/answers both here and on the facebook fan page (we’re trying to get all conversation here so all can benefit from it!). Good luck and let us know your DAY 1!!
So happy after one week, down 4 pounds, after making better food choices and adding more protein, oh boy look out mrs hudson, I’ii be singing that w.w song before long. Thank you so much for the protein advice, it has make a big difference for me. I can’t wait to see what next week will bring, so excited!!
Donna! 4 lbs in one week! Congratulations! So glad you’ve taken the protein tips! IT is key to staying full, building muscle (which burns more fat and increases health as we ‘mature’!) Have a super weekend!
I THOUGHT I ate a lot of protein before starting this program only to discover that I eat much less protein and for that matter calories than I should. How do you incorporate enough protein and fiber in your daily diet? Thanks!
Terrie, look at some of the sample menus on the Turnaround page— Any of those combos will give you 90-120g protein. My yesterday 116g protein and 30g fiber.
Breakfast– greek yogurt/F factor cereal 1/2 c/1/2c soy slender/ cinnamon/stevia/berries
Snack– Protein Shake- JRobb scoop + 4 oz choco soy , pb powder, stevia and chopped ice
Lunch– 5 oz tuna, 1 egg, 1/4 fat free cottage cheese/celery/ lemon juice
snack 1/2 fat free cottage cheese + 1T peanut butter
I was so full I didn’t eat my turkey burger at night. You have to get familiar with what has good protein. Again, the menus in the TRACKING JOURNAL and also on the TURNAROUND page are great samples! You need at LEAST .8 to 1.5 g protein per lb of body weight, according to experts.
OH, the protein shake also had SHAKEOLOGY fiber (1 scoop) in it — you can order that by going to our home page and clicking on ‘find a workout’. This is a great way to add 7g fiber.
Thank you SO much, Pam. I’d completely forgotten about the menus in the back of the journal! *embarrassed* That helps. It looks like adding some supplemental fiber & protein really helps reach those numbers, too. Thanks, again!
Lots of people STRUGGLE at night before bedtime. THIS is more ‘mental’ and comfort than real hunger, so you have to make a choice! I personally have a strong habit of NOT EATING past 7 p.m. And I’ve conditioned myself to not think about food (but I also am in bed before 10 pm and preferably 9!) What to do?
1. Do NOT choose carbs! Body will burn FAT or available carbs, and if you feed carbs before bed, you ‘un-do’ a lot of your disciplined choices earlier in the day. I don’t eat grains, wraps, or anything with more than 10 carbs past 3:00 p.m. when I’m trying to drop fat.
2. DO choose a protein that will burn slowly— Casein is best. NO fat Cottage cheese 1/4-1/2 cup will be so satisfying. A Syntha DESSERT protein shake or 1/2 shake with 1/4c skim and 4 oz water. Slow digesting protein!
3. You ‘might’ choose 1/2 c air popped pop corn, but this isn’t movie or most microwave popcorn laden with FAT, extra carbs, etc…AND… the ‘munch’ factor — few people can eat ONLY 1/2 cup. (however, this is an acceptable option if you HAVE to have a carb).
It is challenging sometimes to figure out “what can i eat” when you are so conscious of everything you are putting in your mouth. Always have great snack options you can go to that will kill the crave.
A super great snack is a turkey roll. Don’t buy the packaged turkey with all the preservatives and high sodium. Go to the deli section and ask for oven roasted turkey, thin sliced for sandwiches but sliced to make ‘rolls’ out of it. Take a 3-4 oz slices, add mustard, use spinach or lettuce leaves, salt lightly and roll it up (you could add a mozzarella stick, low moisture/part skim). This is EASY to assemble, on the go, finger food, high quality protein, filling and ALWAYS right!
Thanks for the tip
WOW what i found out!! – i am not eating ENOUGH of anything! when you dont meet the minimum calorie (big 5 ) in take – your body plays the Feast/Famine game – and when you dont meet the minimum – you dont lose weight! you have to eat to lose weight! sounds crazy and i really didnt realize i was doing this – its been hot this summer and i havent wanted to eat….yuk!
i could SO be a bachelor and eat “whatever is in the fridge” or crackers for dinner! but i ACTUALLY WROTE DOWN everything and yesterday i did increase my intake – i had to add more food – good food!! not just the “snack and run shuffle” !
more tracking today and un-boxing the blender for a protein shake! yay!!
Very good very good Maria!! Yes YOU ARE RIGHT! When you don’t eat well (or enough), your body doesn’t know but that you’re on a desert island, therefore it will store fat for you to survive! I heard just last week a stat from Dr. Oz show that ‘thinner people more true to their best body weight’ eat a LOT more than ‘heavy’ people— the study took into account actual calories, but then went on to say that thinner people got their calories NOT from crackers in the cabinet or whatever is in the fridge, but carefully selected proteins and fats and carbs fro vegetables and good grains! ahhhhhhhh! You are on to something awesome for yourself, and that’s the GREAT NEWS— you get to eat MORE!
My husband and I are doing this together and I’d like some ideas on how to incorporate this program when traveling for business. My husband goes on several trips a year, some are conferences and some are training trips. He’s been very enthusiastic so far, but he’s not sure how he is going be able to eat clean without eating salads for the whole trip.
Great question! One key is to review a restaurant menu (hotel menu) prior to arriving. You can order ANY meat with ‘dry seasoning and grilled’ only—- you can order ANY vegetable without butter and request a little olive oil as a side. You can order rice or other possible grain on the menu (baked potato, sweet potato) and add yogurt (a side request) or even cottage cheese to top it. You just have to look at the menu and make smart choices!
For breakfast… egg white veggie omelets in “pam spray” are easy to order and often what we choose on the road. I also travel with nuts, quality protein bars and toppings for my oatmeal— yup I do—cinnamon, walnuts and stevia! Once you are committed, you’ll see there are super great options everywhere! Good luck! Let us know what you learn, because I’m sure you’ll have great travel tips to share with everyone!
Thanks so much Pam for the helpful ideas!
I am so proud of myself…today I walked by a box of fresh baked donuts and said NO, NOT TODAY!. I didn’t even take a little corner to taste. That so would not have happened a week ago! I’m down 2.2 pounds in 7 days…and learning so much! that “teaspoon” of sugar I had to have in my 4 cups of tea was actually a tablespoon! I’ve since measured out a 1/4 tsp and have reduced my calorie intake immediately. Pretty soon I’ll be down to no sugar in my tea. I love this program. Thank you Angie and Pam! My personal goal is to be 30 pounds lighter and be as fit as you are!
Monika! GREAT share girl!! Huge to ‘say no to the corner’ (and box!) of donuts! BIG victory! You decided really fast what you want ‘more’ (to be down 30 lb and fit!) The honesty in measuring the sugar— HUGE victory! Because you can’t change what you won’t acknowledge! You’re doing a fantastic job, and we’re so excited for you!! 2.2 will turn into 5 by the end of this week as you stay the course! Be encouraged!
Thanks Pam! I so appreciate your encouragement!
Angie & Pam, I had to send you this message. I stepped on the scale this morning and couldn’t believe my eyes – I had released 7lbs with just 1 week of this program. I’m ordering my journal TODAY because I see the importance of keeping it real in my journal and not just a notebook. I need something that is organized for what I am doing and I know that journal is the key so I am not all over the place with my tracking. I have the greatest power partner (Yolunda) and we met because of this program and she has been a blessing!
I can see the visual difference because I took the picture and did the measurements. I have never ever believed in dieting and that’s what makes this program so perfect. It is making healthy choices and being in control of what I am allowing to enter my body. So, Angie and Pam have made me a believer that if I live healthy the results are priceless – only 48 to release! Thanks so much! It’s my now!
Torya, YOU have made my day reading this! WOW 7 lbs must feel so amazing! THAT is for sure looser clothes if not a size! BRAVO! You nailed it!! And yes, keeping the journal is going to be so beneficial because you can quickly flip back and see former meals/snacks that WORK for you and your body’s drops!
Being able to see it in the mirror is so encouraging and measuring is just the REAL DEAL! WE are gonna support you on this journey of -48!! Bravo Bravo!!
Congratulations Torya! Way to go!
Hi Pam and Angie,
I finally took my before picture. WOW! I am glad that I did, so now I can move forward. My fear has always been looking at where I am and seeing a hot mess! as Gloria Mayfield-Banks would say. When ever I would attempt to take a before picture I would cringe!
My water intake has increased and I have been eating brown rice instead of white.
Thank You
A tracked
number surely grows
Good for you Beatrice! You will be so glad you have that picture as you continue moving forward because you’ll forget where you were as your body changes. Once we face our demons in the mirror they can’t hold us down!!!! Can’t wait to hear how your dropping.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Angie and Pam!
I have lost a total of 5 lbs already since 9/6!!! First day was 2.4, next was 1.6 and this am it was another 1 ;0) So excited!!! I realize as I drop the weight and get closer to my goal, it will be smaller losses, but as long as I don’t GAIN a couple, I’m good!
You are SO ‘good’ Chris! WOW, depending on your height, 5 lbs is close to a size in clothes!! Congratulations on such great success right out of the gate! Keep it tight with the food choices/ exercise, tracking & accountability, and I am sure you’ll have even more to share with us after this weekend!
Thanks so much for the “Turnaround”. Having successfully lost weight and kept it off for over 5 yrs, I knew I was getting a bit “lazy” in some areas and not feeling as good as I knew I could. The exercise was there but the food needed some work and will continue to. Anyway, I’ve lost 3.8lbs since Monday of I know a lot was stored water but I do feel so much better and am having fun with it. Tracking will always be a part of the program and it really does help to know exactly what you are doing instead of guessing. Guessing usually is a few hundred calories off….:)) Have a great weekend everyone!!
Congratulations Cindee! You are so right about not tracking and guessing. As long as I have been tracking if I try to carry in my head vs writing as I go………I AM OFF! You forget that extra T of peanut butter or extra cheese stix grab:) Because I have been tracking so long I get anxious if I go to long without checking myself. AND, great on the 3.8lbs!!! YOU GO!!!
Today 9/9/11-Since Wednesday I have lost 2 lbs, started a better workout plan, made a new friend my-IMN buddie, drinking more water and have more energy-and it only day 3!! Love this!! Thank you SO much!
Vicky, 2lbs is major!! Doesn’t it feel great? Seeing those first drops makes it easier to “keep moving forward”. The new workouts and water are both key! Good for you!!! GLAD you love your new IMN Buddie!!!! The two of you will learn so much together.
Hi ladies! Thank you for putting together a book that chronicles all the pieces to being physically healthy that I KNOW I SHOULD do and actually HAVE DONE all at once during seasons of my life. I am in the 8 months after wedding/cross country move season of my life and the day after the wedding I let it all go after a long stretch of really good behavior. Luckily I created enough habits that I am tired of “letting it go” and my body has been telling me for months that it is time to get “back to normal”- healthy normal that is. I was THRILLED when I stumbled onto your book just at the time I was ready to really kick it into high gear again. It was just what I needed to keep myself disciplined to the program. It’s everything- absolutely everything- that I am used to doing and excited about doing again- all in one place! Thank you!
NOW- Two quick questions
1. I see it says “Total 5 combination of fruits and veggies”- Do you mean 5 fruits AND 5 veggies- or 5 total fruits & veggies combined. I was taking it to mean combined but a comment on this site made me think it was 5 of each.
2. How focused or concerned should I be about calorie fluctuations from day to day- meaning if I go to 1400 or 1500 calories- am I still in good shape or do I really need to keep it at a strong 1300 or less?
Also- I am having a great time with fiber and protein but struggling to get my carbs and fat down… however, I am on day 2 so I am hoping I can start making enough changes to see those two go down and then try to get the other two up!
AGAIN- THANKS!
Kathy, goodness I don’t see a reply, so I’m sure by NOW you’re back to goal weight!!!
1. The fruits and veggies are a combination of TOTALY 5 minimum. Best to get more veggies!
2. If your body will drop on 1400-1500, NO PROBLEM at all with the fluctuation. You’ll have to play around, but unlikely the 100 will a difference! Personally, I have to get mine lower to drop.
Most people get too many carbs and wrong fat which takes it too high. Your fat needs to come from WHOLE foods— olive oil, avocado, eggs. Fiber has to come from WHOLE grains, veggies, shakeology fiber from our beachbody link is a great boost in a protein shake. Hope this supports you from where you are now!!
Angie O,
I could not believe it is you. I have not seen you in 7 years and honestly I thought the after pictures was a picture from you from 20 years ago. You look incredibly different. I could not believe it! You look younger now than when I met you 10 years ago. Congrats.
Thank you so much for this program and your example! I just wanted to say how important the right “buddy” is! You’ve got to get one and have one that will stand in the gap for you and you for them! A year ago I was “ready” to jump into this program and run with it and I put out there to my Bible Study group if anyone wanted to be an acountability partner or buddy for weight loss. No one responded at first and I trusted that God would bring someone to me or give me the strength to do it alone.
A few weeks later a lady came forward and we started and another lady joined us – the first two get togethers were great, but then one or the other couldn’t “show up” and one stated she just couldn’t handle dieting right now – she was stressed, yada, yada and in some instances was cold and unfair to me. Well, needless to say the group ended and I let this totally derail me and my diet and I took on so much shame about how open I had been with these ladies about my food struggles.
It took me about 5 months to realize what a huge mistake I was making by allowing others to decide my fate with MY weight loss and of course this spilled into oh so many other facets of my life – why do I allow others to decide my success or failure? I can only be in charge of me! and I AM responsible for me and my actions!
Praise God here I am today, beginning again. This time I have a nurse who is my buddy and I meet with her weekly with my food journal. She weighs me and takes my blood pressure and I am accountable to her.
I wish I could be accountable to myself but having a buddy works – whoever that might be! Ask your doctor if you can check in once a week or someone who has been successful at weight loss. Don’t give up! If you’ve stopped start again! I did and I’m down 9 lbs this first week back! Amen!
Hi Pam & Angie,
I love the IEatFit program. I have been working to get healthy for 3 years now. The food journal is fantastic and weighing everyday helps me understand how the foods I eat affect my body. Over Labor Day weekend, we had friends over for a picnic. I had sugar and my body ached all the next day. I won’t be doing that again.
I’ve started working out with a trainer and feel amazing.
I was wondering if there is anyone out there that needs an accountability partner. I would love to join up with you.
How does Pamela make sure she eats clean at events? I know I have a few coming up & want to stay on track.
Hello All,
I am an emotional eater and at first I didn’t realize it until I tipped the scale at my now weight of 205 lbs. I have been out of work temporarily due to an injury and depressed about my income so in this last 4 months I have packed on 10 lbs. Can you believe it 10lbs in only 4 months. I have made up my mind to get moving and focus on eating right, and cutting lots of my bad eating habits like skipping meals. I am excited about joining this journey on weightloss and I will be ordering my tracking journal next week.
Have a Blessed Day.
Good for you Vanessa!!! Keep us posted on your success. You can do it. Recognizing the problem is the first step to fixing it.
HI,
I Just wanted to comment on this month’s topic, emotional
eating is one of the main reasons why I’m overweight.
I’ve started to write down my feelings and I’m hoping to gain some insight to what my triggers are. I can tell you
I do eat as a distraction from things going on around me
in my life and I’m now working on facing my fears, frustrations of the day etc and looking for another outlet, Thank you for such a GREAT topic,
Jeanne

HUGS, KAREN
Hey gals I want to share a few things I have been doing for me as suggested by my Doctor. Because I am an adult with ADD (not ADHD) my doctor felt I was not feeding my brain properly. Just by going on a high (raw) protein diet my thinking is clearer and I feel so much better. First thing in the am I start off with water and lemon. Then I have my breakfast shake. 6-8 oz soy milk (the good stuff, no sugar added soy as the first ingrediant. 1-2 raw eggs (cage free)REALLY, 1t cinnamon, fresh strawberries or fresh fruit of your choice, Frozen blueberries, blend well.
My doctor has turned me on too Kettlebell! This is the most amazing affective workout I have ever tryed. No impact on my legs (my vains in my legs get nasty when I do jumping jacks). Anyway back to Kettlebell my doctor suggested in the beginning 10 minutes a day 6 days per week. Now I can live with that! Then Dr suggested I advance to 2 times per day 10 minutes each time and I really started to see results. My legs are toning and thin from the knees upward and soon I will have no more large thighs! Whoo Hoo! My favorite workout DVD is “Go fit Iron Core Kettlebell” with Sarah Lurie. I have adavanced to volume three. I have never had visable results from a workout before I love this workout!
Deb, I (Angie) get mine at Publix grocery store and Pam gets hers at Kroger. Brand I use is “progresso”. They are ususally in the oriental food section or ask them because most grocery stores carry it.
GLAD you liked the burgers!
Hi Angie!
Where did you purchase your Panco Bread Crumbs?
I made your turkey burgers tonight and they
yummy! However, I did not have your bread
crumbs. The steamed veggies were awesome in the
chicken broth!
I LOVE all I am learning from you! Thank you for creating the Ieatfit cd. Thank you for the emails. Thank you for the recipies. Thank you for your example. You are making a difference in my life.
Lat month was a hard one, only lost 6 pounds, this month has gotto be a winner
OK here’s one from an initially “reluctant husband!!”
My wife comes back from FTP in Destin & says “hey honey, we’re going to start eating fit! – it’s NOT a diet!!” My initial reaction is “Whooooooh, I’m not so sure about this” – particularly when she wants me to be her “accountability partner!” Bottom line is after 4 weeks (as of today) – I’ve lost 17+ pounds (201 down to 186) – heading to 175 – 180 which had been my range for about 30 years until I started the “middle age spread”. Neat thing is I’ve taken about 2 inches off my waist which is where I needed to lose it and I’ve not really felt hungry, but am very conscious of what I eat – the right stuff vice the Starbucks Frapachinno!! Thot ya’ll might like to hear a “guy’s take!! (I might add the down side is that a guy has to be careful – you might tick your wife off when you lose more than she’s losing – just be sure to point out to her “it’s relative” – deal with percentages – someone losing 4 lbs from 200 is same as 2 lbs from 100!!!)
Thank you so much for the NEWSLETTER! I cant tell you how much receiving that email helps to get me back on track! It can be very challenging at times breaking some of these bad habits I’ve had for years … but I am amazed at how much the tracking and the food counts really work when they are applied!!! DUH! Ok … on Day 65 — down 6 lbs from starting date from 144 … My goal is 134 lbs by end of my 90 days — very do-able with IEatFit! If you work the PLAN! and EXERCISE … I re-committed my tracking and exercise! The season of Lent has always been an inspiration to reflect and eliminate intake items that I struggle with for a higher purpose and with more discipline! Love the recipe, Angie — and that VIDEO!! Fabulous — Angie will you make one for the office! Would love to have the two of you here in CT for a workshop! Thanks for all the inspriation! Love, Dana
Shelly, I just made them the other day and used the spenda for baking. It was great. I used 1/2 cup! Just dip your finger in it and if not sweet enough for you add a little more. Can’t hurt! No cal’s!!!!!!!!!!!!
As long as when you look on the back at ingredients and there is nothing added , you are fine. I am amazed everytime I check the packages of what I think are PLAIN ALMONDS that there are added oils listed as ingredients. There are some in the baking sections with nothing added so hopefully those are what you are getting but just always take a quick peak at the label.
I usually get the almonds in the baking section, larger quantity, nothing added, not even cooked. Am I overlooking something I should be aware of?
I just purchased the journal and CD at FTP. I am looking forward to getting started and on my way to feeling better as well as dropping a few pounds.
I found a FANTASTIC LARGE Whole Wheat Wrap! The brand is La Tortilla Factory and I bought them yesterday at Jewel Osco. 80 calories, 3 fat, 18 carbs, 12 FIBER, and 8 protein! They are soft and scrumtious! YUM YUM YUM! I love Mexican food and I am just so happy! I filled this with spinach, seasoned ground turkey and homemade salsa last night. So good! Did I mention how happy I am to have found these?
Hi Dana,
YOU JUMPED RIGHT IN THERE! Good for you.
Pam: I take a wide variety of supplements. I have ‘most of my adult life’ seen the most incredible chiropractor who is THE most knowledgeable on foods, whole food supplements (STANDARD PROCESS) and how they work uniquely in an INDIVIDUAL’S body. I rarely self prescribe. I take what he has advised me; I take a multi vitamin from P90X Beachbody.com; I take a few others that after reading Dr. Oz material I feel are important (like 1000 units of D, for example). A GOOD multi could be a good start! Quality ingredients is key. I also think that Nature MADE makes a good multi.
Angie: I take nothing! I feel good eating the way we are and don’t feel like i need to right now. I am going to see a holostic doctor and get recommendations but until them I am just getting what I need from food.
WATER: 64oz a day!!! When you get your journal you’ll see a reminder one each tracking page so you don’t forget.
Hope this helps!
Hey Angie & Pam …
I am soooo excited! This is all coming together really really well — thanks for shooting me that link, I appreciate it! For the life of me, I was wondering what a CLEAN FOOD was? OK … so MOST IMPORTANTLY … I found my POWER PARTNER!!! The fabulous MAGIC Director Sandra Blacksher … and it’s a PERFECT FIT! Started tracking my #’s yesterday and today, ran yesterday and did upper body and hit the gym for a SPIN CLASS this evening! P.S> — Do you have a Daily Vitamin you recommend and 2. How much water do you suggest we drink daily? Thanks again for everything! Happy New Year! Love, Dana
Hi Angie and Pam!
Just want to say Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing this life changing program… we might not be emailing each other everyday for accountability, but your names are enough for me to be reminded and actually stick to this new healthy lifestyle being accountable first to myself, then to my love ones… I have lost 35 lbs so far since July and I still have 15 lbs to go. This is not easy at first, but ones you get the ‘life style’ going, it’s smooth and it gets to be a normal part of life. I thank you both! I feel good and I know I look good… I had to dig up old clothes (smaller size) that now fits AGAIN! HA!
God bless.. love you guys! — Gracie
PS — Hey Gloria… is that “NOW?”
Well, this has to be a first. I worked out HARD on Christmas Eve, AND I have written down my food intake and ‘planned’ for the rest of today! I tend to be an all or nothing person. And that is in just about EVERY area of life. I’m not proud to write that, as I’ve had to work hard to temper the tendency in business and relationships. And although successful in a few areas, food, exercise and weight maintenance have a short history of consistent success. Because our Christmas in KY. is rich in tradition with family and specific events (soup supper and cookie bake at my house, Christmas Eve dinner for Thomas, Christmas Day at my Parents—which STARTS off with waffles and bacon, the 26th ‘cutthroat’ Christmas at my aunt’s in L’ville)… I have usually just tossed my hands in the air to proclaim, “I’ll START fresh the 27th.” Only for leftovers to still be a part of the battle. LAST Dec. 27th changed all that as you know from reading our blogs, webinars and iEATfit cd. This holiday season has been unique in that I didn’t ‘deprive’ myself, but I have also not gorged myself with a ‘tomorrow’ mentality. My favorite phrase from the Biggest Loser season, or what I saw of it, was when a spouse is ‘done’ on the treadmill and communicates that he’ll do more tomorrow when his wife proclaims “TODAY IS TOMORROW”. For people who get it— business, relationships, money, and fitness… TODAY is tomorrow.
I have to say that I feel quite ‘peaceful’ about the way Angie and I have approached the past year with our fitness, tracking and accountability. I have actually created a LIFESTYLE CHANGE, and have sustained it for one full year! Not only has the process improved our health, and appearance, (although not perfect and not ‘at my goal’, I was so happy to look in the workout mirror today and not crying like I usually am this time of year!) but a one-of-a-kind friendship has evolved AS HAS the opportunity to support YOU in your quest for success in this area. Grateful.
It’s noon here. With Thomas (age 14) still sleeping, my beautiful and favorite Christmas cd’s playing in the background, weather channel on mute (I have to concede… no snow in KY this year), a few dishes awaiting my preparation and touch, I wanted to take this time to wish you and yours a very blessed, purposeful and peaceful holiday as we remember the reason for this night and celebration. Giving thanks for the promise and hope He brought, for the lives we are privileged to live today. We look forward to connecting with and supporting you on your lifestyle choices, decisions and habits in the days ahead. Merry Christmas!
I just wanted to mention that I have added many salsas to my eating plan! Adds zing, zip, few calories and helps me feel full and happy! I am not sure I could have lost the 17 pounds without it actually!
My first week — I lost 9lbs!!! During the Christmas holidays. I could not believe the scale. I was in a state of shock. This week I planned my meals but only exercised twice. The goal I set was to start slow and gradually make lifestyle changes with physical activity. This plan has made me more aware of the food I was feeding myself and family. There were times during the week in which I did not make good food selections or I failed to exercise but I did not beat myself up over the choices I made but rather learn and make improvements. I am so excited about next week.
After seeing Pam, my beautiful daughter-in-law, at our Oregon 2008 October family reunion, I was dazzled by her fitness and weight loss. Pam immediately shared the “Its My Now” journal with me!
On October 20th, a week or so after everyone went home, I grabbed the book, started my journey, and now, 62 days into “my now”, have lost a very solid 17 lbs!
Figuring out the fiber, protein, carbs, water, etc etc kept me very interested, focused and gave real impetus to go deeper and learn more about all aspects of every detail. From BMI to cholesterol, LBM, fats, I was a sponge and recorded all relevant facts and thoughts in my book! I especially loved all the motivating ‘sound bites” at the bottom of each page and reading those bottom tidbits has certainly reduced my bottom, I can tell you that!
I won’t tell you how old I am (and hope Pam won’t either
), but a couple nights ago as my husband I were leaving for a dinner date, he looked at me and said “I can’t believe how hot you look” . . . and he is not one to let loose with too many compliments! So, this program works because it gets your mind and body engaged in the process with an added plus of a recorded journal of the journey!
Congratulations Pam and Angie! You have a winner and since you are both outstanding winners I’m not surprised!
Stepping on the scale. The first day I started the its My Now program. I was a bit apprehensive. I had no iea of what to expect. When I stepped on the scale I could not believe the number that I saw. I weighed very colse to the weight I was during my 9 month of pregnancy. That was 3.5 years ago. I had no execuse and I vcold no longer be in denial. Its My Now — time to get started.
FINALLY after fighting “getting with the exercise” program. I have a testimonial that it is necessary!!! When I started the program I lost consistently without exercising and really thought I didn’t need to, until I hit a “STALL” after the first 30lbs. Then, reluctantly I started working out to dvd’s I love. I became consistent and can honestly say, is not an activity I embrace each day. Yesterday in the Atlanta airport I had to RUN from one concourse to another to make my flight. I didn’t think twice. I just started running!!! After getting there I realized how many times that had happened before and my immediate thought was “I’ll catch the next one”! For the first time I could actually see because of that flashback that I am at a new FIT LEVEL or would have not have been able to do that!
It’s My Now!!!
Hi Angie and Pam
I just finished listening to the Webinar. As I was learning how to make a life style change with my eating habits information I was eating in Ruby Tuesday. Imagine learning about eating healthier while stuffing yourself with french fries, fried shrimp and soda. Typically before starting a program I would have what I call the last supper before I deprive myself for several weeks of the food I enjoyed. Here were my thoughts prior to listening to the call, “You will be starting a new diet so make your last meal good”. Previously the most success eating program I tried was the “See Food Diet.”Basically, the diet was see the food I want and eat it. I was VERY SUCCESSFULL on this eating program. In the past when starting and stopping weight loss programs I had never considered a life style change but a temporary fix. Simply stated I have not made my health a priority. I have wanted to loss weight but never purchased a scale. I don’t even know what I weigh. When it came to clothing I would just buy new clothes and say myself the “dryer shrunk my 2 sizes small boot cut jeans or size is only a number and my weight was fine”. I looking foward to the change.
PS. I decided halfway through the meal changes begins now with a simple adjustment thus I decided not to finish my meal and eat a salad instead.
